In Growth Engines and the subscription-based weekly Silk Road Investor, we focus on Asia's long-term growth prospects. Today we take a look at the stock Alibaba.com, which in November, 2007, became the most anticipated IPO for an Internet company since Google.

Its business is pretty simple: Alibaba.com is an online business-to-business marketplace where companies can post products for sale and it's absolutely free. The company currently boasts over 24 million members in over 200 countries and those numbers are still rising. It expects its profits to triple this year alone.
